This program is designed for workers who issue, work under, or monitor permit-to-work systems in high-risk environments. Students will gain a solid understanding of permit systems, including when and how to issue permits, the limitations of different permit types, and the responsibilities of permit holders. Whether students are working in confined spaces, hot work, working at heights, or other hazardous tasks, this program provides students the skills to operate safely and legally under permit conditions.

This program is designed for workers in the mining and resources sector who are required to work under, issue, or monitor permit-to-work systems as part of their operational duties. The target cohort includes personnel involved in high-risk activities where formal authorisations (permits) are required to control hazardous work and comply with site safety protocols.

Please note the prerequisite unit MSMWSH201 Conduct hazard analysis is included in this program. The unit will be completed prior to the commencement of MSMPER300 Issue work permits.

Entry Requirements

  • Students must possess the necessary language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) skills (ACSF Level 3) required to interpret and apply the relevant information effectively.
  • Students will be assessed to ensure they have the appropriate level of foundational skills necessary for the program.

  • Photo identification - drivers licence, passport, proof of age card/photo card.
  • Your Unique Student Identifier (USI) number, if not already provided.

Students are required to wear course appropriate clothing and enclosed footwear.

All students will be required to create or obtain their personal USI. Certificates cannot be issued without this code.

Free off-street parking is available at 7 Brickworks Court, Glenella, 4740  located off Glenella Connection Road. Once you have secured a park the entrance to our building is locate between the blue and cream coloured building follow the signage through to reception for check in.
